CAIRO – 16 May 2018: England national team manager Gareth Southgate announced on Wednesday the team’s final squad for 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The manager ruled Liverpool’s James Milner and West Ham’s Joe Hart from the final squad.

Southgate’s chosen squad for the World Cup consists of:

Goalkeepers:

Jack Butland, Jordan Pickford and Nick Pope.

Defenders:

Gary Cahill, John Stones, Kyle Walker, Phil Jones, Kieran Trippier, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Harry Maguire and Danny Rose.

Midfielders:

Jordan Henderson, Raheem Sterling, Eric Dier, Ashley Young, Dele Alli, Jesse Lingard, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Fabian Delph.

Strikers:

Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy, Danny Welbeck and Marcus Rashford.

“I believe this is a squad which we can be excited about. It is a young group, but with some really important senior players, so I feel the balance of the squad is good, both in terms of its experience, its character and also the positional balance,” Southgate told press.

The World Cup draw put England in Group G alongside Tunisia, Panama and Belgium.

English fans are putting all their hopes on the players’ shoulders to win their second World Cup title.
