CAIRO – 8 May 2018: Al-Ahly’s board, headed by Mahmoud Al-Khatib, decided to postpone the decision of coach Hossam el-Badry’s future with the club for a few more days.

“The board has decided in its last meeting to delay any talks about signing new players, planning for the upcoming period or deciding the destiny of the coaching staff until the season ends on May 22,” Sherif Fouad, Al-Ahly spokesman, told the radio program Mal’ab 9090.

Fouad added, “It was agreed to provide full support to the team and the coaching staff in the matches against Kampala City in the Champions League and against Al-Masry in the Egyptian Premier League.”

The Al-Ahly spokesman said that fans had been worried after the team failed to win in the latest three games, assuring that there is a lot of work taking place to strengthen the team and that the club is working on the coaching staff’s requested signings for the forthcoming period.

Al-Ahly failed to win in its last three matches, as it lost to Zamalek in the Egyptian Premier League, got knocked out of the Egyptian Cup after losing to Alassyouty, and tied with Tunisia’s Esperance in the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
