Mselhy calls 11 Al-Ahly players to national team camp

CAIRO – 27 April 2018: Al-Ahly announced on Friday that 11 players from the volleyball first team have been called for the next national team camp at the Olympic Center in Maadi.

The players are Abd Elhalim Abou, Abdallah Abdalsalam, Abdelrahman Seoudy, Ahmed Saeed, Ahmed Abdelaal, Mohamed Abdelmonaem, Mohamed Ramadan, Mohamed Moawad, Mohamed Adel, Hossam Youssef and Sherif Ahmed.

Al-Ahly agreed on the Egyptian Volleyball Federation’s request to appoint the club’s manager, Mohamed Mselhy, as the Egypt men's national volleyball team manager until next September.

Al-Ahly has had an amazing season under Mselhy’s command, achieving the Egyptian League title, Egypt’s Cup title and the African Volleyball Clubs Championship title.

El-Gaish manager Wael El-Aidy and Islam Othman are appointed as the national team assistant managers.

The new coaching staff will lead the national team at the 2018 Mediterranean Games in Tarragona, Spain in June.

Egypt won the Men’s Volleyball gold medal at the 2005 Mediterranean Games in Almeria, Spain.

The national team qualified to the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship in Italy and Bulgaria after achieving second place in the 2017 Men's African Volleyball Championship.
