Cairo – 27 April 2018: Al-Ahly announced on Thursday that the club agreed on the Egyptian Volleyball Federation’s request to appoint the club manager, Mohamed Mselhy, as Egypt men's national volleyball team manager until next September.

“Al-Ahly always supported the national teams throughout history. I am so happy for Mselhy after his great achievements with the club. I hope the best for him at his new mission,” Raouf Abdelkader, Al-Ahly sports activities director told Al-Ahly’s official website on Thursday.

Mselhy has had an amazing season with the club achieving the Egyptian League title, Egypt’s Cup title and The African Volleyball Clubs Championship title.

El Gaish manager Wael El-Aidy and Islam Othman are appointed as the national team assistant managers.

The new coaching staff will lead the national team at the 2018 Mediterranean Games in Tarragona, Spain in June.

Egypt won Men’s Volleyball Gold Medal at 2005 Mediterranean Games in Almeria, Spain.

The national team qualified to 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship in Italy and Bulgaria after achieving the second place at the 2017 Men's African Volleyball Championship.

The Federation also appointed Nehad Shehata as U21 men’s national volleyball team manager and Maged Mostafa was appointed women’s national volleyball team manager.
