CAIRO – 22 April 2018: Arsenal’s coach, Arsène Wenger, revealed that Mohamed Elneny’s injury doesn’t look good.

Arsenal thrashed West Ham 4-1 in the 35th round of the English Premier League on Sunday.

Elneny was carried out of the pitch ten minutes before half time. He stepped wrongly on his left ankle. He covered his face (crying) by his jersey on the way off.
“I don’t know the extent of the injury but it doesn’t look good,” Wenger said after the match to BeIn sports.

“We’ll have to wait until he undergoes the medical check on Monday; I wish all the good,” Wenger added.

Sky Sports’ reporter revealed that Arsenal‘s medical staff don’t believe it will be a serious injury; just a slight twist in the ankle.

Elneny’s injury sparks World Cup absence fear for him from the Egyptian national team. He is considered one of the key players of Egypt alongside Salah, Abdullah El-Said and Hegazy.

Elneny is showing a great performance with Arsenal in the last period which secured him a basic position in the starting squad of the team. The last amazing performance for Elneny was against CSKA Moscow in the quarter-final of the UEFA Europa League which ended 2-2.
