CAIRO – 22 April 2018: Zamalek SC president announced on Saturday that the White Club signed the Swiss coach Christian Gross in a two-year contract.

Zamalek’s official website stated that the club reached an agreement with the Swiss coach after a meeting with Mortada Mansour, Ismail Youssef and Ahmed Mortada Mansour.

Gross

Gross, 63, reaped 14 titles throughout his career: He achieved four league titles with FC Basel, two titles with Grasshoppers and he got five Swiss Cups with both teams.

The last club he managed was the Saudi club Al-Ahly; he achieved three titles before being sacked.

Gross prefers to start his reign with Zamalek at the start of the next season. The Egyptian League’s new season will start on August 3.

Zamalek SC announced the sacking of Ehab Galal following the 2-1 loss against Ittihad in the 31st round of the Egyptian League.

Zamalek suffered under Galal’s command; the club was eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup and their chances of ending the Egyptian League in second place and qualifying to the CAF Champions League next season were destroyed.
