CAIRO – 18 April 2018: Manchester City achieved the English Premier League title, Bayern Munich achieved the German League title, Paris Saint Germain achieved the French League title and Barcelona are very close to win the Spanish League title so the football fans’ eyes are drawn towards the race to win the Turkish League title.

Four teams from Istanbul are competing to win the title with five games remaining.
Galatasaray, who won a record 20 Turkish League titles, are leading the race with 60 points.

They are one point ahead of the title holders, Beşiktaş and İstanbul Başakşehir who share the second place, while Fenerbahçe, who won 19 titles, are in the fourth position with 57 points.

İstanbul Başakşehir were leading the League table until last week when they lost their away game 2-0 to title contenders, Galatasaray.

Galatasaray, led by veteran manager, Fatih Terim, opened the score by Mariano Ferreira from a screamer after 60 minutes; then an own goal at the added time by Emmanuel Adebayor secured Galatasaray’s victory.

Galatasaray avenged their 5-1 loss to Başakşehir at the first game of the season.

Galatasaray still have five games to win the League but the toughest clash will be at home against their neighbors, Beşiktaş on April 29.

Galatasaray, Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe are also still competing to win the Turkish Cup title alongside Akhisar Belediyespor.
