CAIRO – 7 May 2017: Alexandria's Security Directorate will ban Al-Ahly and Zamalek's ultra groups from attending the Cairo Giants upcoming African games, scheduled for May 12 and 13 at the Burg Al Arab.

Meanwhile, security officials approved the attendance of five thousand valid ticket holders, confirming that both clubs will provide shuttle buses to transport their supporters to the stadiums and to return them back to the club headquarters.

Security officials also stressed that they will issue tight restrictions on the use of sticks and the offensive banners during the game and completely ban the use of any flammable items, including lighters and fireworks.

Those decisions came after a conditional meeting by top security officials in Alexandria on Saturday to set up the necessary security measures for the upcoming African games.

Al-Ahly is expected to clash with Zambian Zanaco in the Group D first round fixtures of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League 2017, while Zamalek will face Zimbabwe’s CAPS United in the championship’s Group B fixtures.
