CAIRO – 10 April 2018: Finnish club Kuopion Palloseura officially announced signing Egyptian midfielder Abdallah el-Said for two months on its website on Tuesday. Said was pictured with the Kuopion shirt for the first time.

Said, on loan from Al-Ahly, has agreed to receive $16,000 from Kuopion for the 60 days he will play for the Finnish team, a source close to the player revealed.

Said will play for Kuopion Palloseura for the next two months to prepare for his participation with Egypt’s national team at the World Cup in Russia.

Said chose to play in the Finnish League, as the transfer window is still open in Finland and the Finnish teams can add players to their squads.

Said was a key player for Al-Ahly since he joined the club in 2011, but the club’s board decided to freeze him, as he signed for Al-Ahly’s rivals, Zamalek, before renewing his contract with Al-Ahly.

Said is the second Egyptian player to play in the Finnish League after Amr Gamal, who joined HJK Helsinki in March.

The Finnish League started on Saturday, April 7, and Said’s new team played on Sunday against Honka; the game ended with a 1-1 draw.

Said is expected to join Saudi Arabian club Ahli Jeddah in the next season, according to the club’s chairman, Torky bin Mohamed.
