CAIRO - 10 April 2018: FIFA’s official Twitter account shed light on the journey of Mohamed Noufal, the Egyptian citizen who will travel from Egypt to Russia by bicycle to support Egypt at the 2018 World Cup.

FIFA wished Noufal the best of luck on his journey of around 5000 kilometers; Noufal will pass by Jordan, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova and Ukraine on his way to Russia in a period of time that may reach 65 days.

Noufal started his journey at 9 a.m. on Saturday April 7, with his own bicycle, heading to Russia to support the Egyptian National Team at the World Cup, as part of the “World Cup on Pedals” initiative.

This is the first initiative of its kind to be launched in the Arab and African world, which comes under the patronage of Egypt's Ministry of Youth and Sports, Egyptian Cycling Federation and the Russian Culture Center in Egypt. The trip started from the Russian Culture Center in Dokki, Cairo, in the presence of Russian and Egyptian press.
