CAIRO – 28 March 2018: After a phenomenal performance on Tuesday night when Francisco Alarcon, known as Isco, led Spain to defeat Argentina 6-1, the Spaniard spoke about the difference between his performance with the national team and his club, Real Madrid.

“In Madrid, I don't have the confidence a player needs; the matches with the national team give me life and here I have the confidence of the coach,” Isco told press after the game.

The Spanish midfielder scored three goals and provided an assist to lead his team to destroy the 2014 World Cup runner-up, Argentina.

Isco is a key player on the Spanish national team, but in Real Madrid, he failed to earn a starting position under Madrid’s French manager, Zinedine Zidane.

Isco added, “Lopetegui (Spain’s manager) shows me confidence with the minutes he gives me. Maybe I'm the problem in Madrid. I don't know how to win Zidane's confidence."

After Tuesday’s big victory, Spanish fans started to believe in their national team’s ability to win the World Cup.

Isco spoke about the victory over Argentina, saying, “We mustn't forget that this is part of our preparation for the World Cup. The victory can give us a lot.”

Spain plays in Group C alongside Portugal, Iran and Morocco.
