CAIRO – 26 March 2018: Arsenal has announced on its official website the contract extension of Egyptian midfielder Mohamed el-Neny.

The Premier League club didn’t mention the duration of the new contract, saying only that it will be a long-term contract.

Mo el-Nenny, as Arsenal fans call him, joined the North London team in January 2016 from Switzerland’s FC Basel, the team where el-Neny started his professional career outside Egypt, helping them to win three Super League titles since he left al-Moqawlon in 2013.

The Egyptian international midfielder has played 65 games for Arsenal in all competitions, scoring two goals.

El-Neny won FA Cup last season with Arsenal, and the Community Shield early this season.

Arsenal’s official website and Twitter page congratulated the Egyptian midfielder, saying: “We would like to congratulate Mo on his new contract and look forward to his continued contribution in the coming seasons.”
