CAIRO - 25 March 2018: The U19 national pentathlon team won the gold medal in the men's competitions at the Spanish International Youth Championship under the age of 19, held from March 15-22.

The Egyptian team, composed of players Aly el-Din Sherif, Ahmed Osama el-Gendy and Muhannad Tarek, won the gold medal with 3371 points, beating the German team that won the silver medal with 3265 points and the French team, that won the bronze medal with 3218 points.

In the men's individual standings, Aly Sherif ranked second, winning the silver medal with 1136 points, while Ahmed Osama el-Gendy came third, winning the bronze medal with 1120 points. Muhannad Tarek ranked fourth with 1115 points while Mohamed Adam finished 25th with 1052 points.

The Egyptian team is led by Moamen Ahmed Sayed, the weapons coach, while the Egyptian delegation is headed by Ashraf Dasouky, a member of the board of directors.
