CAIRO – 2 May 2017: Al-Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry apologized for his misconduct which occurred during the team’s faceoff with El-Entag el-Harby in a Premier League clash that ended in a 1-1 draw in a game at Al-Salam Stadium on Sunday.

“If I ever happened to have done something wrong, then I apologize,” Badry said during his call-in to ON Sport’s TV channel “Masaa el Anwar” talk show presenter, Medhat Shalaby.

Al-Ahly coach was sent off to watch the game from the stands for the first time after the referee Mahmoud Ashour showed Badry a red card for opposing Ashour’s decisions and inappropriately looking down on him.

He further stated that the incident was not intentional, attributing that it was due to the “match's usual nervousness and tension.”

Speaking on the upcoming Arab Club Champions League, Badry confirmed that Al-Ahly is keen to participate in the league, which is scheduled to take place in July.

“The championship will serve as good opportunity to get fringe players exposed to the pitch experience with the team and to properly utilize them,” Badry said, adding that they will adopt rotational policy between players to ensure that health concerns wouldn’t bump us.”
