Al-Ahly and Zamalek basketball match - (Archive)
CAIRO – 30 April 2017: Al-Ahly Basketball squad managed to defeat its archrivals Zamalek, Saturday, in the first match of the Egyptian Basketball Premier League final round.
Al-Ahly managed to eliminate their archrivals Zamalek 79-74 in a gritty head-to-head derby, which took place at the Olympic Center of Armed Forces in Alexandria.
The former Super League champions regained their momentum with their victory over Zamalek, following their recent Egypt Cup loss to Alexandria Sporting club in the final match 73-71 just few days earlier.
Throughout the game, Al-Ahly held the advantage over Zamalek in the games' three sets; the first set finished 22-19 the second set 34-32.
The Red Devils sealed their game, win after approaching a win in the game's third set, which ended 59-54.
