CAIRO – 10 March 2018: Brazilian footballer David Luiz plans to remain at Chelsea in case his current manager, Antonio Conte, leaves Stamford Bridge, as has been rumored for months.

The Brazilian international has been out for weeks because of a knee injury, but he has also lost the trust of Antonio Conte.

Although the Italian coach says his relationship with him is still good, he opted for Andreas Christensen after David Luiz's performance was questioned in the two Champions League games against Roma.

Hence, the central defender, accustomed to being a starter and who maintains his hopes of being part of the Brazil team in the 2018 World Cup, is upset with his situation, explained Goal.com.

The fact that the continuity of Antonio Conte is in doubt due to Chelsea's bad performance in the Premier League has left David Luiz rethinking his future, after he has already missed nine rounds of the Premier League due to new discomfort in his knee since February 5.

He aims to finish the season in the best way to go to the World Cup, but also has the backing of those responsible for the club that see in him as a basic piece of the team.

On the other hand, Antonio Conte is still questioned, and being eliminated by Barca in the Champions League could seal his departure at the end of the season despite having a contract until 2019. On the other hand, the Italian coach is one of the candidates to lead Paris Saint Germain.
