CAIRO – 14 February 2018: Zamalek defeated Wadi Degla 1-0 on Wednesday night in the Egyptian League, continuing their amazing run in the league.

Zamalek started the game with a massive attacking line of Emad Fathy, Ayman Hefny, Abdallah Gomaa and Kasongo Kabongo, who failed to break their opponent’s defense in the first half, while Wadi Degla players had two failed chances to score through Omar El Said, ending the first half 0-0.

Both teams’ performance improved in the second half, and Degla goalkeeper Mohamed Abdel-Monsef saved two chances from Mahmoud Abdelaziz and Mahmoud Alaa in the first five minutes.

Zamalek goalkeeper Ahmed El Shennawi saved two chances from Ahmed Salem Safy and Omar El Said three minutes later to keep the draw.

Zamalek midfielder Tarek Hamed had two strikes in the last minutes, but Abdel-Monsef saved them.

The master scene of the game came two minutes from the final whistle, when Kasongo Kabongo received a cross within the opponent’s box and converted it to the winning goal.

Zamalek reached the third place with 42 points, 18 points behind the leaders, Al-Ahly.
