CAIRO – 12 February 2018: Former French star Thierry Henry believes that the partnership between Liverpool wingers, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino on the pitch will further develop.

“They enjoy being on the pitch together. Obviously, Salah has just arrived, so it's still early between those two; but you can see a great partnership developing there," Henry told Skysports on Sunday.

Both players led Liverpool to a 2-0 victory over Southampton on Sunday. Salah provided an assist to Firmino to open the score for Liverpool after six minutes from the start.

Three minutes before the half time, Salah passed the ball to Firmino who returned the ball back to Salah with a wonderful flick that put Salah in a one on one situation with the goalkeeper and helped him to double the score for his team.

Henry was impressed with the connection between the two players in the second goal, he said “Salah knows that Firmino is going to drop and he can run in behind, when he gives him the ball, he usually knows that he will receive the ball back. They're hot at the moment.”

Firmino’s assist helped Salah to score his 22nd goal in the Premier League this season and he stands one goal behind the Premier League top goal scorer, Harry Kane.

Liverpool reached the third place at the Premier League table and they are two points behind the second placed, Manchester United.
