CAIRO – 6 February 2018: Antonio Conte's hours at Chelsea seem to be numbered. After his two consecutive defeats against Bournemouth and Watford, Chelsea President Roman Abramovich would already be looking for a substitute to replace the Italian at any time.

As Spanish website SPORT has revealed, former Barcelona coach Luis Enrique is the favorite for this job.

It all started a little over a month ago, when Abramovich asked technical reports to see all the candidates.

Those reports of Luis Enrique were positive in all aspects. The owner of Chelsea wants a very new-faced coach to lead the players – a coach who doesn’t have any relationship with the players. In that aspect, the figure of former Chelsea coach Guus Hiddink would be discarded.

Another point in favor for Enrique is his ability to manage issues with important players.

Abramovich believes that it is imperative that the coach makes the decisions, not the players. In addition, in London, they believe that Luis Enrique wants to show that he is also a good coach outside of Barcelona.

Once all the reports were satisfactory, Marina Granovskaia got down to work. She is the director of Chelsea and the one in charge of carrying out all the operations of the English club.

Two weeks ago, Granovskaia contacted Luis Enrique to assess his incorporation.

Negotiations would go in a good way and the Spanish coach could debut on the bench of Chelsea in the Champions League tie against FC Barcelona – an exciting challenge to start.
