CAIRO – 23 January 2018: Manchester City have secured the future of their Belgian midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, after he renewed his contract with the club until 2023.

“I am really happy to have signed this new deal; my intention has always been to stay here at City, where I’ve felt at home from day one,” De Bruyne told the club’s official website after he signed his new contract.

Kevin De Bruyne has established himself as the most important player at Man City this season, leading the team to top the Premier League table with 65 points, 12 points ahead of the second-placed team, Manchester United.

Manchester City’s director of football, Txiki Begiristain, revealed his happiness with the deal, saying, “Kevin’s new deal is great news for our club. He has shown this season how important he is to the team and has been integral in everything we’ve done so far.”

Since De Bruyne’s transfer to Man City from Germany’s Wolfsburg, he has played 122 games for the team, scoring 31 goals and providing 50 assists in all competitions.
