CAIRO – 21 January 2018: Al Wahda achieved their third UAE Arabian Gulf Super Cup title after defeating Al Jazira 2-0 on Saturday night at Baniyas Stadium.

Al Wahda played the game as UAE President's Cup champions, while Al Jazira played as the UAE League champions.

Al Wahda entered the game with a massive attacking line of Balázs Dzsudzsák, Mourad Batna and the club’s historic captain, Ismail Matar, who witnessed the club’s two previous titles in 2002 and 2011.

On the other side, Romarinho, Mbark Boussoufa and Ali Mabkhout led Al Jazira’s attacking line.

Al Wahda opened the score after 20 minutes through Batna, and Dzsudzsák doubled the score in the second half through a penalty.

Al Jazira continued their poor run in the competition, as they appeared in three finals and lost them all.

The first one was against Al Wahda in 2011 when they lost the game to penalties, before losing the 2017 Super Cup title 2-1 against Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai.
