Zamalek’s first victory under Ihab Galal

CAIRO – 18 January 2018: Zamalek defeated El-Dakhleya 2-1 on Thursday night in the Egyptian League, achieving their first victory under their new manager Ihab Galal.

Zamalek’s Kabongo Kasongo opened the score in the first half after El-Dakhleya players failed to clear the ball from their area.

Zamalek doubled the score through Emad Fathi 15 minutes later in the second half. Fathi scored in his debut with Zamalek after he joined the club from Misr El-Mikassa.

El-Dakhleya scored their only goal in the game through Naser El-Mansi, 13 minutes before the final whistle.

El-Dakhleya players failed to equalize the score in the remaining minutes and the game ended 2-1 with a victory for Zamalek.

Ehab Galal who was appointed Zamalek manager on January 6. His first two games with the club were a 3-0 loss to Al Ahly in the Cairo Derby and two days later, a goalless draw against El-Entag El-Harby.

Zamalek missed their defender Ali Gabr who has been linked with a move to West Bromwich Albion this winter.
