CAIRO – 15 January 2018: The Football Association of Wales officially announced appointing former Manchester United star Ryan Giggs to be the manager of the national team replacing Chris Coleman.

Giggs was one of four candidates to take charge of his country's national team in the next Euro 2020, in which the Welsh team is aiming to reach an advanced stage after failing to reach the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The 44-year-old former Welshman is on his first assignment as a head coach, having previously served as United's assistant coach for the 2013-2014 season.
