CAIRO – 13 January 2018: FC Barcelona has just officially announced the transfer of their Turkish midfielder Arda Turan to Istanbul Basaksehir FK on loan until June 2020, as Turan’s contract with Barcelona officially ends.

The negotiations intensified in the last hours and have culminated to a very unusual agreement.

At first it was established that the Turkish player was going to leave on loan for a season and a half, but they agreed to extend the assignment for an extra season.

After arriving at Camp Nou in the summer of 2015 from Atletico Madrid in exchange for €34 million, Turan has played 55 games with Barcelona; he succeeded in scoring 15 goals and helped his team win 6 trophies: 1 league championship, 2 Copa del Rey, 1 Spanish Super Cup, 1 Club World Cup and 1 European Super Cup.
