CAIRO– 09 January 2018: Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has once again backed Real Madrid President Florentino Pérez.

Zidane insisted once again that he does not want reinforcements or signings in this winter football market, although Real Madrid is about to sign goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Zidane is confident in his squad and has returned to defend Arrizabalaga.

When he was asked about reinforcements in the press conference prior to the Real Madrid-Numancia of the Copa del Rey 2017/2018, Zidane was clear.

"I don’t need anyone and that's that. I don’t want anybody. We have a squad, we started with them and I believe in my players. There are always difficult times during the season, which is what you’re trying to convey, but I don’t think like that,” he said, according to Real Madrid’s official website.

“There’s everything to play for and we’ll see what happens at the end of the season, which is when things are analyzed," Zidane further stated.

Zidane also spoke about the bad performance that Real Madrid suffered this season, which let Barcelona ahead of the White team with 16 points in La Liga.

"The plan is to work and work even more, because it’s not enough. We’ll continue working more than ever. I believe in my squad and I’ll not change,” he added.

“I’m annoyed by the comments that you make and that you think that I’m throwing down the gauntlet to the president and the club; this shows that you don’t know me. I’m just another person and nobody is above Real Madrid. I’ll never throw down the gauntlet to the club, the fans or the president who has put me here,” Zidane ended his talk, showing support for Real Madrid’s president.
