CAIRO – 29 December 2017: Chelsea’s midfielder, N'Golo Kanté, was voted as the best French player of the year by the magazine France Football ahead of Paris Saint-Germain’s striker Kylian Mbappé and Real Madrid’s striker Karim Benzema.

Kanté, 26, and eighth in the Ballon d`Or list, replaced Atlético Madrid’s striker Antoine Griezmann in the list of winners, who finished fourth in the 2017 edition.

The achievement of the second English Premier League title by the incombustible midfielder, last season with Chelsea, earned him the majority of votes of the members of the committee, ex-footballers and journalists of the magazine.

Griezmann, who was featured in the members of the committee as the winner of the last edition, did not consider Benzema among the best five of the year.
