CAIRO – 22 December 2017: Al-Ahly officials have decided to renew Emad Moteab’s contract for another season in only one case, which is his leaving the team within the upcoming transfer window to join one of the Saudi teams under a six-month loan contract.

Al-Ahly striker Moteab’s contract with his team ends this season, but the player was a step away from joining one of the Saudi teams in the middle of the Saudi League’s standing table. This came following the decision by al-Ahly officials to renew a potential deal between the player and the club, according to Super Kora.

Hossam el-Badry, Al Ahly's head coach, continued to freeze Emad Meteb on the bench in Wednesday’s game against Smouha, despite the lack of strikers on the team. This entails a new signal from el-Badry that he doesn’t want Moteab on his squad.
