CAIRO – 20 December 2017: Olivier Giroud was ruled out from the match between Arsenal and Liverpool on Friday because he was injured.

The French star suffered the injury during the match against West Ham on Thursday in the Carabao Cup, and had to leave the field. Reiss Nelson stepped in as his replacement.

Giroud suffers a hamstring injury, and coach Arsene Wenger will rely on Alexandre Lacazette because he is the option Wenger has for the center forward position against Liverpool.

Lacazette has shown good performance with Arsenal this season. He scored eight goals and made one assist in the Premier League.

Arsenal managed to sign the 26-year-old former Olympique Lyonnais striker last summer for €53 million ($68.5 million) for a five-season contract, with a weekly salary of €200,000 ($258,619), according to Super Kora.
