CAIRO – 9 December 2017: The CONCACAF Champions League winners, Pachuca, defeated the CAF Champions League winners, Wydad Casablanca, 1-0 on Saturday in the FIFA Club World Cup to reach the semi-finals.

Pachuca dominated the game since its start and had many chances to score in the first 20 minutes through their Japanese attacking midfielder, Keisuke Honda, who created many chances, but his teammates failed to score before the end of the first half.

Pachuca players entered the second half with a desire to score more, and they had a chance after nine minutes through Honda, but his ball did not find its way to the net.

Wydad’s captain, Brahim Nakach, got a red card after a dangerous tackle against a Pachuca midfielder in the 67th minute, so his team had to continue the game with 10 players.

Both teams failed to score in the remaining minutes, ending the regular time 0-0. The game then went on to 30 minutes of extra time.

Victor Guzman scored the only goal in the game for Pachuca in the 112th minute to take his team to the semi-finals.

Pachuca face Brazil’s Gremio on Tuesday at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium, Al Ain.
