CAIRO - 29 November 2017: Egypt’s national team head coach, Hector Cuper, assured that the Pharaohs will not travel to Russia for the World Cup just for participating in the tournament. The World Cup will be held from June 14 to July 15.

Cuper said in remarks on the official website of the International Football Association FIFA, “We will not go to the World Cup to participate only, we want to qualify and perform well, we believe in our abilities and what we are capable of making,” according to Super Kora.

Egypt qualified to 2018 World Cup, after 28 years of absence from participating in the World Cup, since Egypt participated in the 1990 edition of the tournament in Italy. The Pharaohs managed to join the qualified teams to the World Cup from the fifth round of the African qualifiers, as the team led its group which included Uganda, Ghana, and Congo.

Egyptian football fans and the national team coaching staff are all waiting for the World Cup in Moscow, Russia to begin. The World Cup will be held at the Kremlin Palace in the capitol of Russia.
