CAIRO – 27 November 2017: The Asian Football Confederation announced on Monday AFC’s Champions League team of the season. The AFC was won by Japan’s Urawa Red Diamonds, yet none of their players were nominated for the Champions League team of the season.

The team includes players from the runner-up Al Hilal, including Osama Hawsawi, Carlos Eduardo, Omar Khribian and Mohammed al Burayk.

The team also included 3 players from Guangzhou Evergrande, including Alan Carvalho, Feng Xiaoting and José Paulo, who left the club last summer to join Spain’s Barcelona.

The other four players in the team are Hossein Mahini from Iran’s Persepolis, Omar Abdulrahman from Emirati club Al Ain, Yasser Al Mosailem from Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli and Givanildo Vieira, known as Hulk, from China’s Shanghai SIPG.




AFC also nominated Al Hilal’s Mohammed Al Burayk for the best player in the final with a rate of 7.4.
