CAIRO – 24 November 2017: Bournemouth coach Eddie Howe said that striker Jermain Defoe will miss Saturday’s Premier League game against Swansea City because of a calf injury.

England's Defoe turned up injured for training last week and consequently missed a 4-0 win over Huddersfield Town. Wilson scored his third goal in his second league game since he returned from a serious knee injury.

Defoe's absence in the upcoming game gives Benik Afobe a chance to play as a striker alongside his brilliant teammate Callum Wilson.

Benik Afobe was on the bench during the game against Huddersfield because he was recovering from a muscle problem but he is likely to play in the game against Swansea City.

"Benik Afobe has continued to train this week so he's fine. That's a really good lift for everybody to have him back," Howe said.

Swansea is currently on the 19th position in the league table and the team’s coach is struggling to lead his team to safety.
