CAIRO – 24 November 2017: Chelsea Coach Antonio Conte said his players have shown great character in the Champions League, and said he was happy to be able to deal with the pitfalls they faced this season.

Chelsea's Champions League rout suffered a setback last month when they lost 3-0 to Roma. They returned to the top of Group C and secured a 4-0 victory over Qarabag in Azerbaijan on Wednesday.

"This group is showing great character," Conte told reporters after the match.
"From the start, we faced a lot of problems this season. Our answer was positive, almost always positive. For sure, the second half against Roma was bad,” he added.
"These players show me every day great commitment, great will, desire to fight," Conte said.

Conte complained of lack of time to prepare for the team amid a host of domestic and European fixtures. He raised the issue again before heading to meet Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday.

"To have only one day to rest and only one day to prepare (for) this big game is not simple, is not easy. I think also it's not right," he said.
"I don't want to make excuses, but this is the reality," he added.
