CAIRO –18 November 2017: One goal separates Mohamed Salah from the record with Liverpool during the Southampton match. Maybe he will score two goals and break the record, which has lasted more than 24 years.

Salah moved to Liverpool last summer for €42 million ($49.5 million) and €8 million in bonuses. He quickly adapted and became the top scorer this season after scoring 12 goals and assisting four in his 17 appearances for Liverpool this season.

In the English Premier League, Salah participated in 11 games, scoring seven goals and ranking third, behind Sergio Aguero (nine goals) and Harry Kane (eight goals), and equally with Romilo Romelu Lukaku, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus.

The former Roma player is just one goal away from equaling Robbie Fowler's record with the Reds by scoring eight goals in 12 matches.

Mohammed Salah will need to score one more goal against Southampton on Saturday in round 12 to equalize this number. If he scores two goals, he breaks the record.
