CAIRO – 17 November 2017: It seems that the fifth Ballon d`Or (Golden Ball) award is guaranteed for Cristiano Ronaldo, but the 32-year-old will not stop at this point; he wants more.
Cristiano Ronaldo had an interview with French magazine L`Equipe, during which he responded to criticism and discussed his future ambitions and aspirations.
Real Madrid's No. 7 said of the Ballon d'Or, "I'm not worried about it anymore. I'm 32, nearly 33. My world isn't only about football. There are other important things.”
The four-time Ballon d`Or-winning player continued, "With the Ballon d'Or, I know the panel is still voting. I'm confident. I'm confident of winning; not worried.”
"I want seven children and just as many Ballons d'Ors. As long as I play, I'll have the ambition to win all I can,” he added.
Cristiano Ronaldo announced on Sunday night that his girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez, gave birth to their first child together.
Ronaldo now has four children, Cristiano Jr, 7, who was born to a surrogate mother, and twins Eva and Mateo, also from a surrogate mother. The twins were born on June 2017 in the U.S.
The Portugese legend spoke about Real Madrid’s start this season, saying, "Pretty good. Not perfect, but good! I'm happy and I feel good. We dropped some points in the league, but in the Champions League, we're OK," he said.
"It's only the start of the season and there are a lot of matches left to play. You have to stay calm and continue to work, because it's obvious we can do better,” he added.
Cristiano is immersed in a major scoring drought that has led to just one goal in the eleven games that have been played in La Liga this season.
"I don't agree with what people are saying about me. People don't know the difference between playing well, playing OK and not scoring goals,” he said.
"I'm looked at as a goal machine, like a guy who has to score all the time. If that isn't the case, nobody cares if I've played well or not; I'm only judged on scoring,” he continued.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been named Best Men`s Player at the FIFA football awards on October 2017. He won the award for the second year in a row after leading the Blancos to win La Liga and the Champions League two times.
"I accept the criticism, but I don't agree with it. That's why I avoid reading or hearing what is said about me. I have no choice but to accept it; I can't control the world," Ronaldo stated.
