CAIRO – 13 November 2017: West Ham announced on Sunday that West Ham’s former player, Stuart Pearce, has been appointed as an assistant coach to West Ham’s new manager David Moyes.

Moyes started arranging West Ham’s bench to replace West Ham’s coaching staff, who left the club after their coach, Slaven Bilic, was sacked last week.

“The prospect of working in the Premier League, at a great club, and alongside David, meant that it was an opportunity I couldn't resist, and I hope that I can now make a positive contribution," Pearce, who wore West Ham’s shirt between 1999 and 2001 told the team’s official website on Sunday.

Pearce experienced sharing the bench with Moyes in Preston North End and Everton according to skysports.

He also spoke about the factors that led him to accept the offer; “The opportunity to work with David Moyes, who I have respected greatly over the years, was a big factor, as was having previously played for the club.”

Pearce will be on West Ham’s bench on Sunday when the team travels to face Watford at the Premier League.
