CAIRO – 13 November 2017: Croatia ended their game against Greece in Athens with a 0-0 draw at 2018 World Cup qualifiers play-offs second leg. They secured their qualification to the World Cup.

Greece entered the game with a massive attacking line that consists of Kostas Mitroglou, Lazaros Christodoulopoulos and Anastasios Bakasetas to overcome the first leg’s 4-1 loss.

On the other hand, Croatia’s coach, Zlatko Dalić put his trust in veterans Luka Modric, Ivan Rakitic, Ivan Perisic, and Mario Mandzukic. They returned from Athens with a ticket to the World Cup.

Greece had many chances in the game to score goals. But, Croatian goalkeeper, Danijel Subasic managed to keep the ball out of the Croatian net and secure the draw for Croatia.

Croatia qualified to the World Cup for the fifth time after declaring independence from Yugoslavia.

Croatia’s best achievement in the World Cup is winning the Bronze Medal at 1998 World Cup in France.
