CAIRO – 11 November 2017: Tunisia qualified to next year's World Cup finals in Russia after they finished top of Group A in the African preliminaries, following a goalless draw at home with Libya on Saturday.

It will be their fourth appearance for Tunisia at the finals, but first since 2006 in Germany.
The Carthage Eagles controlled the game, as they made a few chances to score, but the Libyan defense saved their team.

Tunisia almost scored by a strong shot from Taha Yassin Khenessi in the 38th minute, but it passed by the side.Ali Maaloul, Al-Ahly left-back, participated in the match with Tunisia despite being injured. He played until the 70th minute.

Tunisia and Morocco finally caught up with Egypt and Saudi Arabia, who have already qualified to the World Cup, achieving a new record for Arab participation in the World Cup.

Since the start of the World Cup in 1930 in Uruguay, there have been no more than three Arab teams in the tournament at one time. In 1986 in Mexico, there was Algeria, Morocco and Iraq, while in 1998 in France, Morocco, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia played.
