CAIRO – 10 November 2017 : Croatia defeated Greece 4-1 on Thursday night in Stadion Maksimir in Zagreb, Croatia at the European qualifier play-offs.

Croatia started the game well and got all benefits from playing in front of their enthusiastic fans as Luka Modric scored the first goal after only 13 minutes from the start through a penalty.

Croatian striker Nikola Kalinic scored the second goal six minutes later after a beautiful play from the Croatians.

Greece’s captain Sokratis Papastathopoulos returned his team to the game when he scored their only goal in the game at minute 30. However, Ivan Perisic scored Croatia its third goal three minutes late.

In the second half, Croatia succeeded to score the fourth goal by Andrej Kramaric after a silly mistake from Greece’s defense failed to return the ball to their goalkeeper’s hands.

Croatia secured a comfortable victory before the second leg on Sunday, November 12 in Greece.

In Belfast, Switzerland defeated Northern Ireland 1-0 thanks to a Ricardo Rodriguez penalty at minute 58.
