CAIRO – 7 November 2017: Atletico Madrid’s Argentinian manager Diego Simeone wants to sign Liverpool's Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah in January according to Express.

“Diego Simeone is keen to add more fire power in the next transfer window despite the impending arrivals of Diego Costa and Vitolo; Atletico Madrid are prepared to pay close to £50 million to entice Liverpool into selling their prized asset,” the Express reported.

Salah has had a great season with Liverpool since he joined the club in the summer from Italian club Roma, as he scored 12 goals with Liverpool in 17 games.

Express added; “Atletico are reportedly preparing for the possible departure of Yannick Carrasco who has missed the club’s last five matches due to a knee injury, and they would be willing to consider a player-swap deal for Salah.”

Atletico Madrid are suffering this season as they share the third position in the Spanish League with their local rivals, Real Madrid, eight points behind the leaders, Barcelona.

Atletico Madrid also suffers in the UEFA Champions League; they rank third in their group with three points after four games.
