CAIRO – 3 November 2017: Hossam El-Badry, Al Ahly`s coach, spoke to Ahly’s official website ahead of their match against Wydad Casablanca at the second leg of the CAF Champions League final. Ahly fans hope to add another title to their display case which is already bursting with trophies.

Ahly tied 1-1 with their Moroccan counterpart Wydad during the first leg of the African Champions League final held at Borg Al Arab stadium in Alexandria. Ahly needs a win in order to win the title.

“The game at Stade Mohammed V will be very hard, the players have a lot of experience that will allow them to play under any pressure and under any conditions,” Badry said.

“The team was not lucky in the first leg even though the players put in a lot of work and had most of the ball possession. The players and the technical staff have a large desire to return to Cairo with the title and to qualify to the FIFA Club World Cup,” Badry continued.

“The presence of the large amount of fans in Tuesday’s training gave the players a great moral boost and increased their desire to win the CAF Champions League,” Badry assured.

Ahly is suffering with multiple injured players. Hossam Ashour, Saleh Gomaa, and most recently their Tunisian star Ali Maaloul have all been put out of commission.

“The team will be affected by multiple injuries in the coming game against Wydad, but I have confidence in all players and their ability to perform with the same level in the game. I have full confidence in all Ahly players,” Badry said.

“I hope the referee’s performance is on point and that justice is the criterion of decision making,” Badry concluded.

The FIFA Club World Cup draw was conducted earlier this month and the African winners will play against CF Pachuca.

Ahly have previously won the CAF Champions League eight times, the most successful team in the competition. The last win was in 2013 after beating Orlando Pirates 3-1 on aggregate.
