CAIRO – 2 November 2017: Mahmoud Taher, president of Al-Ahly SC, confirmed his great pleasure in qualifying two Arab teams for the African Champions League final.

Taher said in a press statement, “I wish success to my team, as we didn’t achieve this title for a long time. Al-Ahly is a strong team and always plays under pressure, whether playing at home or outside.” He also pointed out that the game will be difficult, as it will be between the two strongest teams in Africa.

Al-Ahly’s president concluded that he was happy to be in Morocco to support his team against Wydad in the Champions League final. Al-Ahly’s team, headed by Taher, arrived in Morocco on Wednesday to face Wydad Athletic Club on Saturday at Mohamed V Stadium in Casablanca in the final of the African Champions League final at 10 p.m.

It is worth mentioning that Al-Ahly tied with their Moroccan counterpart Wydad, with one goal each, during the first leg of the African Champions League final held at Borg El Arab stadium in Alexandria. Al-Ahly needs to win with any result in order to win the title.
