CAIRO – 1 November 2017: Álvaro Morata left a message of regret for having returned for "contractual agreements" to Real Madrid, after two seasons at Juventus, saying he was "treated like a child" before leaving. He also said that due to his "disappointment", he decided to sign with Chelsea.

"There were contractual agreements to be respected," Morata explained in La Gazzetta Dello Sport as the key point to leave Juventus and return to Real Madrid. "The disappointment was enormous. I went back to the starting point; they treated me like the child I was before the two seasons in Italy," he added.

Morata confessed that he misses Italy, saying, "I would never have left Italy and Juventus; I miss Italy very much."

The reason why he chose to go to Chelsea was their coach Antonio Conte. “We had started talking about an eventual signing the previous spring and finally I arrived in London," he said. "When I met him, I had no problem in understanding his idea of football. I was very well received by my Chelsea teammates; there was a Spanish group with Azpilicueta, Marcos Alonso, Cesc Fabregas and Pedro Rodriguez, and things got easier.”
