CAIRO – 29 October 2017 : English fans are happy with the England U-17 team, who won the FIFA U-17 World Cup after beating Spain 5-2 on Saturday; however, Chelsea fans are annoyed, as the tournament’s top goal scorer, and their biggest star in the tournament, Rhian Brewster, was at the Chelsea academy before leaving them to join Liverpool.

Brewster, born in London, decided to join Chelsea when he was eight, rejecting many offers from other London clubs like Arsenal and West Ham.

Brewster played at the Chelsea academy for six years and earned a great reputation for his great scoring abilities. Liverpool’s scouts advised the board to sign the player from Chelsea, and Chelsea agreed on the deal, so Brewster became a Liverpool player.

Brewster scored 8 goals in the FIFA U-17 World Cup, including two hat-tricks against USA in the quarter-finals and Brazil in the semi-finals. He also scored England’s first goal in the final.

Brewster is not the only player that Chelsea fans regret losing, as they also lost another wonder kid to Arsenal. Eddie Nketiah scored two goals to lead Arsenal to the League Cup quarter-finals after beating Norwich City 2-1.

Nketiah has the same history of Brewster with Chelsea, as he was born in London and joined Chelsea when he was eight, leaving the club at 14 to join Arsenal.

Nketiah and Brewster are expected to form a great partnership on England’s attacking line in the future, and Chelsea fans will always remember that they lost a great treasure.
