CAIRO – 28 October 2017 – Wydad Athletic Club’s president has set a large financial reward to encourage his players to defeat Al-Ahly in the first leg match of the African Champions League final.
According to the Moroccan Al Youm 24 Moroccan website, Said Al Nassery, president of Wydad, allocated a reward of 100,000 MAD ($10,507) per player if his team succeeds in achieving a draw or win in the game, which will be held Saturday evening at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria, Egypt.
Wydad reached the final of the African Champions League after defeating Algerian team USM Alger 3-1 in the total of the first and second leg matches of the semi-finals of the tournament, while Al-Ahly reached this role by overcoming Tunisian team Etoile Du Sahel 7-4 in the total of the home and away matches.
It is worth mentioning that the champion of the African Champions League will participate in the next edition of the FIFA Club World Cup hosted by UAE in December.=
