CAIRO – 27 October 2017: Dani Carvajal and Gareth Bale missed the debut of Real Madrid in Fuenlabrada in the Spanish Cup (Copa del Rey).

Real Madrid won its match against Fuenlabrada 2-0 thanks to Marco Asensio and Lucas Vazquez who scored the two goals from the penalty spot in the second half.

According to their coach Zinedine Zidane, Carvajal and Bale count the days for their return. Carvajal, the Spanish right-back defender, began cycling in Madrid to work on his cardio in preparation. Bale has resumed training with the group, Zidane added.

Fears Carvajal’s injuries would knock him out of the season were calmed, as his doctors allowed the Spaniard to resume training on Tuesday in Valdebebas, Madrid.

Zidane confirmed Carvajal’s recovery at a press conference but continues to ask for time for his return to the pitch. "Dani is doing well because he has done all the tests and it's all positive."

"He has started to bike, he takes his time but he is happy because he is already healthy and he has nothing more, but there is a recovery process, he has started,” Zidane said.

Bale is also almost fit to return to training. He is currently following his solo training after being benched for a month due to a left thigh injury.

"Gareth is going to be better, he is already in the field about to train with the team but I cannot give the date of his return," his coach said, adding that he hopes Bale will be fit enough to return for the Champions League match against Tottenham on November 1.
