CAIRO – 25 October 2017: The sponsorship "Milan-Adidas", symbolical for almost two decades, has come to an end.

This has been announced by the Italian club in an official statement that read, “AC Milan has mutually agreed with Adidas to prematurely terminate their technical sponsorship deal at the end of the season 2017/2018.”

“The current partnership, which began on July 1, 1998, has been highlighted by a consistent flow of successes with a total of twelve trophies.”

Its alliance, which began in 1998, had been renewed for ten years in 2013, adding up some €200 million ($235 million) in the operation.

Milan first wore the Adidas stripes in the early 1990s, before switching to Lotto and then back to Adidas.

According to the publications of some Italian media, the brand that AC Milan will wear from next season will be Puma, the German kit manufacturers that are currently worn by Arsenal and the Uruguayan national team.

This is a big change in the recent history of Milan, which was acquired in April by businessman Li Yonghong when sold by its former owner, the emblematic Silvio Berlusconi.

Since the arrival of the Asian businessman, Milan has made big investments in signings, but their efforts have been nil, and this is reflected by the poor sports results; they occupy the 11th place in the Italian League table after nine disputed rounds.
