CAIRO – 24 October 2017: Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud scooped the award for the best goal in 2017.



Giroud became the first French player to win the Puskás Award. Malaysian player Mohamed Fayez Sabri won it last year.

The award was established for the best goal in the year in 2009 for the first time.
Ten players, including a woman, were competing for the 2017 Puskás Award for the Best Goal of the Year.
