Egypt's Omar Assar loses in table tennis world cup

BRUSSELS – 21 October 2017: Egyptian table tennis player Omar Assar lost 4-1 to his Chinese component Ma Long in the round of 16 of the 2017 ITTF World Cup.

Assar is ranked 21st in the table tennis world ranking, the best ranking ever for an Arab or an African player, while the Chinese player is considered the world champion and the tournament favorite.
