CAIRO – 14 October 2017: Egypt’s Mohamed Elneny played the full 90 minutes as Watford defeated Arsenal 2-1 in the 8th round of Premier League.

Elneny tried to take the lead for the Gunners; however, his strike from outside the box went inches above the crossbar in the 27th minute.

After five minutes, Arsenal came close to scoring again, but Danny Welbeck was unable to collect Lacazette’s pass following an amazing teamwork display.

Arsenal managed to take the lead in the 38th minute, as Mertesacker’s header found the back of the net.

Six minutes after the break, Watford’s Richarlison tried a powerful shot but to no avail.
Ten minutes later, Alex Iwobi’s shot was saved by Watford’s goalkeeper following a smart move by Ozil.

Twenty minutes to fulltime, Troy Deeney scored, making it 1-1.

In the last moments of the game, during the extra time, Tom Cleverley followed up a loose ball and slotted it past Petr Cech, winning the game for the home side.

Following the loss, the Gunners currently occupy the sixth league spot with 13 points and are set to face FK Crvena Zvezda on October 19 in the UEFA Europa League.
